ICT KS4

In KS4 ICT Students will:

Year 11

Students in the current year 11 are studying the Edexcel ICT GCSE. In year 10 they completed controlled assessment which is worth 60% of the qualification and in year 11 they will study for an externally assessed unit which covers:

– digital devices,

– connectivity,

– operating online,

– online goods and services,

– online communities,

– issues in ICT.

Year 10

Students choosing to study ICT at KS4 will complete the OCR Level 1/2 Cambridge National Certificate in iMedia which is equivalent to a GCSE. This vocationally related qualification takes an engaging and practical approach to ICT which will equip learners with a range of digital skills. The hands on approach has strong relevance to the way young people use technology required in creative media. Students will study two mandatory units; Pre-productions skills, which is externally assessed and Creating Digital Graphics, which is assessed within school. Students will also study two other internally assessed units covering topics such as creating a multi-page website and an animation.
